This page shows a comparison of several web log analysis tools.
Hopefully it can be regularly updated to give accurate information.
Here is a comparison page for reference: http://www.freehackers.org/Web_log_analysis_software. It is not updated for long though.
Webalizer is a venerable web log analysis program written in C. So it is supposed to be fast.
It got no updates for long (during the year 2009 and 2010?). But it is alive. The latest stable version is 2.23-05, released on 2011-04-15.
It now has builtin support for looking up both ipv4 and ipv6 addresses to generate country stat, with GeoDB database. You can find the database at ftp://ftp.mrunix.net/pub/webalizer/geodb/, and it is normally updated every month.
Note: GeoDB 20121001 and previous version have a bug with APAC countries (especially China). 20121022 and later verision should be OK.
Webalizer can also use GeoIP to look up the countries of ip addresses. But no ipv6 support is present as of v2.23-05. (IPv6 support inside GeoIP is considered experimental in fact.)

AWFFull is a fork of Webalizer.
Its latest stable version is v3.10.2, released on 2008-12-13.
It works with GeoIP. It suffers from the fact that ipv6 country lookup doesn't work.
The development seems not going on for a long time (from 2009 till 2012).
